'Thursday's Glimmer' captures a moment when sun streams across a cluttered and somewhat unremarkable mantlepiece. A begonia sprawls across the composition. I painted this from a quick and spontaneous photograph that I made when I noticed the light. A rich study on the how light falls on different textures but also a piece to serve as a reminder that we can find joy, intrigue and beauty in the, seemingly, mundane.
